mid october challenge at filipino scrapbookers

its the mid time of the month of october and once again, the filipino scrapbookers are encouraging everyone to join in the fun in the sketch!

this is a two page sketch but i tried to modify and squeeze in to create a one page layout. it was a challenge per se because it was a dictation to myself whether i am to defy or not to defy against the sketch. but in the end, i did took up the challenge... i was also inspired by fellow DT bessie for her one page layout too.

derwent inktense blocks trial drawings

just want to share my first attempt on using Derwent Inktense Blocks...

THE CORAR SERIES... or in short,

THE BLUSH SERIES

i would like to name the girls in blush as

cora

since only their "blush" are visible...

i want the focus to be on their cheeks.

first girl: Mary Corazon;
a mixture of chinky and french look

second girl : Ara-Cora ;
the artsy Cora, flamboyant and carefree

oh, i also did a modified JUDITH using these blocks
click here to know more about my Judith Series ( using markers ) ,

a bleed on the lips, sorry. its a gel pen error.
okay, i modified my Judith and used these blocks to create a messy shabby look. you can compare the different styles and outcome by clicking the link above.

which one do you like best?

thanks for viewing..

update on Judith

it has been months or i guess years since my last post on Judith which i drew from my own designs, the dress  and colors were done using markers...

DT at Filipino Scrapbookers

Thank you to Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge Blog for the great opportunity in the coming next 6 months. The rest of the DT members will be coming up with great layouts from great sketches! So pull your scrap stash out, so am I... and join me in this mojo comeback. I know some of you have gone different ways, diversions ( which we cannot even comprehend as to why we had to at least sway a bit) but there is always an outlet in scrapbooking which we cannot even understand too.

So in this journey, just be with us. Try to make some layouts from the sketch, make them your guide, your light. As what we say " sayang naman ang scrap stash if we do not use it ". You do not have to be as fast as a cheetah to scrap but only do it with your heart, and that's what counts.

here is my take on the first intro layout.

these are really backlog papers which i have not touched for months but i still love the colors and the paper designs.

These two layouts were made during an anxious time of my life. during the rush, i want to mask my thoughts thus doing these layouts so as to destress myself.

vintage with a playful boy color

i am not sure if scrapping really is time consuming or we just let ourselves be the slave of time and just making it pass. i know i have been scrapping so slow and in a discontinuous pattern but once you sit down and just TRY to sneak in a few moments of your time to REALLY SCRAP, then i think we can start our mojo running. it is really US who is the culprit of our laziness to scrap. we make the decision and we make our own will if we really want to scrap or not.

i tried my best to come up with something i want but there was nothing good about my wanting something out of something until oh well, i just have to do it. i made this 6x6 layout in less than an hour, assuming all embellishments are right in front of me. lol.

i am quite happy with the outcome despite the free style conformity which i am really not into but nevertheless it paid off.

so if we say we do not have time to scrap, its really not that way in the first place.

layout theme: vintage with a hint of playful boy color.

locally made

got these cute local stamps from Papemelroti for my postcrossing usage...

baker's twine ( light green) and washi tapes from Hey Kessy...

tried wrapping around a wooden clothespin for that "fabric-ated" look.

been on a scrapbooking rut a couple of weeks... feels so good just to be on a moody mood, even for quite a short while today.

vow of love

i handmade this 6x6 wedding mini album as a present for a client's best friend who will be leaving the Philippines soon. the pages inside the album were not included as per client's request.

hope her best friend will love the album...

i wish i could show the pages inside since they are very romantic and dreamy with a bit of shabby concept but i have to respect my client's choice. anyway, here it is... only the cover and some overview...

i added some techniques with flowers and chipboards embellishments...
